Little Big Boy & an Announcement...

I've said it before, I'll say it again- Where did my baby go?!

Here's a shot from our trip to the bank this week. What's a mom to do to prevent her bouncy 21 month old from wandering off with a stranger or running out the door while I set up savings accounts? Naturally, bribe him with a lollipop. Collin hasn't had much in the way of sugar and candy is really such a foreign concept to him, but desperate times call for desperate (and rare) measures. His eyes got so big when he licked that sugary orb for the first time. Oh boy!

He's just growing up too fast! This sweet tee from Gretta's Organics is a 2T and it's not going to fit him in a few weeks. Side note- A cute feature of Gretta's super soft tees are the flip up bellies with animal names. Check them out here

He's already wearing some 3T clothing! And, I am almost mad about how many summer sandal/shoe iterations we've gone through already. It's only June and I need to find something else in the way of footwear because both his Crocs and Saltwater Sandals are nearly too small... Can any other toddler parents (or parents in general) please validate this frustration!? They are size 8 toddler shoes! That's huge for 21 months, right?! I will add that he's off the growth charts in height and neither mom nor dad are short, but still... I'm fearful the sizes will run out before he's done! I looked at some size 9 sandals today and thought they looked like they could be kindergartener shoes.

For the sake of keeping him little as long as possible AND saving money, I really do hope we can get off this growth spurt train soon. ;)

If that weren't enough, he's just so delightfully learning and changing each and every day. I just want to camp out in the present continuous... To enjoy all that is now, while embracing all that is moving forward. Is this possible?

Soon Collin will be assuming a new role... As a big brother!

Yup, we are due with baby #2 in mid December (Christmas baby)! No, we probably won't be naming it Holly Berry or Ivy or Kris.

Needless to say, we are over the moon excited to be welcoming another bundle of joy to our crew. This is the way we shared the news with FB friends. Kind of fitting since we are in major house project mode.

We are thankful, we are excited... I am tired. Ha!

I'm off to Illinois with Collin for the week. We'll be celebrating my sister-in-law Katie's baby shower and eating plenty of s'mores at Camp Bradac, I'm sure.

 Love to you all!

Steph

  1. That's amazing news! Congratulations to the three of you becoming four!!

I can totally relate to the frustration of keeping a growing boy in shoes/clothes! I have the added hurdle of his wide feet, lol. I don't think it will get easier unfortunately.. although I would love to say it does :)
