Wallpaper Goodness

Waiting to go into labor is like watching paint dry... What's more interesting than paint on a wall? Wallpaper, my friends! Check out some of my current favorites. I wish we didn't live in a rental and could actually wallpaper and then, if I get another wish, whenever we do by a house, I'd wish for my husband to have a lobotomy-- temporarily throwing aside his pragmatism and embracing the challenge wholeheartedly. Never know... he could be up for it! He has surprised me before. If you are reading this, babe, it would be a small accent wall... Nothing to hard to remove later on down the road;) Love you!

Wawllpaper Without Woes

So, last month I was flipping through my Country Living magazine and came across a sweet paint roller that creates the wallpaper work without the glue mess or tear down hassle. Check it out:

When you hear the word stencil does your whole being cringe at the thought of early 90's projects that seemed like a good idea to your mother? Apples in the kitchen? Ballet slippers in your bedroom? Geese?!

DIY Photobooths, Say Cheese!

I've always loved photobooths and am constantly in search of the vintage ones that will print black and white pictures. Did you know they cost upwards of $1000 to rent? Can't afford that? I've come across some sweet ideas for making your own, some are as easy as a cool backdrop and a big frame. They are perfect for weddings and summer parties. Be sure to have a basket of props on hand, such as hats, funny glasses, moustaches, ties, etc.

Projects with Vintage Wallpaper

Does the thought of wallpapering a wall make you cringe? Have you just recovered from the 48+ hour project of scraping horrendous 80's country geese paper off your kitchen walls? There are plenty of beautiful, vintage wallpapers-- worth reviving in unexpected (and, perhaps, less permenant) ways.

I have a lovely roll of vintage, damask wall paper that I used to make May Day baskets for the ends of the church pews at my wedding last May (see below). Our wonderful florist and family friend, Mary, put the flowers in little beakers of water-- keeping them fresh and pretty in their wallpaper cones!
