Best Day!

Oh boy! Today has been so sweet. Around noon I was updating some things in my Etsy shop when I noticed that my one of my Teacup Lights had 128 hearts and 1000 plus views... What? I made the front page of Etsy! My friend Molly was over and I'm thankful that she knows how to save screen shots because amidst the screaming and jumping up and down, we were able to capture proof. First square on the page!

What ensued was a handful of orders and a wonderful celebratory lunch at Panera with good girlfriends!

Here's the sweet light that gave my little shop a boon:

When I got home I found a little package in the mail containing these beautiful earrings (below)! A while back I designed a logo and Etsy shop banner/avatar for a sweet woman and she had sent me a gift with the logo I made her on the tag. They are beyond cute. I'm sorry my hands are shaky and the photo isn't 100% clear, but go check out her shop and get some Christmas shopping done!

A Total Success!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Garden Market! We had a blast selling earring racks, tea cup lights, colander lamps, french glass lights, hoop wall art, key/necklace hangers, magnetic memo boards and more! This, being our first craft fair, far surpassed our expectations and breaking the $500 mark made all the hard work worth it!

After selling on Etsy for a year, it was so fun to get face to face reactions to my products and the positive feedback from countless strangers was extremely encouraging!

Thanks, also, to my awesome husband who drilled oodles of lamps, built me wonderful displays, put up with the house being a total war-zone in the days leading up to the fair, loaded and unloaded the car, and helped me sell at the fair. He always encourages me to step out, create, and achieve my goals. I love you, Nick!

La La Lamptastic

Hey everyone! I've been sort of MIA in the blogosphere for the past few days. We painted our sunroom and living room and it looks delightful! Pictures are on the way! I'm inspired to spend next weekend creating and recreating lighting with vintage lamps and upcycled materials. Below are some of my recent sources of inspiration...
Click here to find out how to make a vintage-style cork lamp.

Amazing bowl lamps, read about how to make your own at Country Living.

I can't get over the cuteness of these vintage teacup lamps from Domestic Construction.

These LOVELY hanging pendant lamps were made out of vintage tea tins! Read about it here.

These beauties are made entirely from paperclips! Check out Redesign Technologies on Etsy.

Design Sponge did a DIY article on Mason Jar Lanterns a few years back. Read how here.

And, of course, there's always the good old miracle that a can of spray paint and a new shade will work on an old, tired lamp. Read the DIY article here. Now it's off to light up our world in creative, new ways!
